President and CEO, West Florida Region
Michael Schultz serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Florida Hospital West Florida Region and Executive Vice President of the Florida Division of Adventist Health System that includes 9 hospitals located in or near the Tampa Bay area. Schultz has been a Vice President with Adventist Health System (AHS) since 2000, initially as President and CEO of the Appalachia Region, which included Park Ridge Hospital in Fletcher, North Carolina and three hospitals in eastern Kentucky and Tennessee.
Prior to joining AHS, Schultz had an extensive background in finance and hospital administration at healthcare facilities in California, Illinois and Tennessee. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago.
Schultz actively serves his community as the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) Board Chair, a Board Member of the Florida Hospital Association, Board Member of the Tampa Bay Partnership, Board Member of the Executive Board of Fletcher Area Business Association, Board Member of the American Heart Association and a member of the Rotary International. In his leisure time he enjoys fishing, golf, snow skiing, boating, tennis, basketball and football.
